What is the Queensland Fruit Fly & Why is it a Problem in the Yarra Valley? The Queensland fruit fly is a devastating horticultural pest. The female fruit fly lays her eggs in fruit and vegetables. The damaged fruit and veggies rot inside while the eggs mature into larvae, making the produce inedible and unsaleable.

Queensland fruit fly (QFF) outbreak has been detected in theYarra Valley. Pest Free Place of Production (PFPP). Movement of fruit produced within the. PFPP now requires treatment to access fruit fly sensitive markets.

The Rotary Club of Lilydale currently meets bi-weekly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. We meet at York on Lilydale, start arriving from 6:30 pm for 7:00 pm start.
