CLUB SERVICE ACTIVITY – MAINTENANCE REPAIRS TO LILYDALE YOUTH CLUB FACILITITES

ATTENTION: SATURDAY 20TH FEBRUARY – CANCELLED DUE TO YOUTH CLUB FACILITIES CONDUCTING COMPETITIONS
WORKING BEEs : LILYDALE YOUTH CLUB at 9 MARKET STREET LILYDALE, commencing Wednesday 17/02/2016 through to Sunday 28th February 2016.
NATURE OF WORKS: Patching, cleaning, preparation of the walls, steel work and attached fittings for painting etc. of OLD SECTION of Youth Club Facilities
RESOURCES: LABOUR SUPPORT FROM NOT ONLY CLUB MEMBERS BUT ALSO MEMBERS OF YOUTH CLUB AND POSSIBLY CORRECTIONAL SERVICES PERSONNEL
This project will be a great opportunity for PR and show support for the youth of our area. A number of local businesses have agreed to supply paint, building materials etc. to assist with the refurbishments.
Our aim is to start some works from Thursday 17th in preparation for the weekend working bees.
Some works will also be carried out during the week in between.
The works that we are hoping to carry out is a complete clean up of the old section of the Youth Club.
Both Des Shiel and Rod Busst have had a quick look at the building and have identified several maintenance requirements.
We have also been in touch with Beverley Garrett from the “Correctional services” Dept (who recently spoke at our club)
regarding the possibility of supplying some labour support.
The Club’s Community Committee will be supporting the workers with food and drinks during the process.
