Club Dinner Meeting – Developing a Rotary International Project : A Journey of Discovery and Learning

November 14, 2017 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm

SPEAKERS   –   Bill & Madalyn Parlet

TOPIC            –    Developing a Rotary International Project : A Journey of Discovery and Learning

On 22nd November 2017, Bill and Madalyn make their second trip to Dili in support of the Hearing Health project.
This presentation will briefly describe what will be achieved on this visit.

They will also talk about how, as a couple new to Rotary, they identified, designed and implemented this humanitarian project in Timor-Leste.

The project commenced in May 2015 with the development of a steering committee, following approval by RCL Board – refer initial part of submission to RCL Board below:

“As a member of the Rotary Club Lilydale, I am seeking the Board’s support to establish a project that
addresses hearing problems experienced by the people of Timor-Leste. The Rotary Club of Lilydale is already
involved in T-L through East Timor Roofing (ETR) and Malnutrition Program at Bairo Pite Clinic (BPC). This
provides us with the benefit of existing relationships in country as well as club members who have experienced
the conditions in Timor-Leste.”
