Following a very successful year under President Delwyn Ellis, achieving solid fund raising and member growth results, on Sunday the 25/06/2017 the Club had an enjoyable changeover lunch. There President Delwyn handed the Chain of Office to incoming President Bill Parlet.
Club members Des Shiel and Ron Haines were acknowledged for their contribution to the Rotary Club over recent years, by receiving a Paul Harris Fellow. Des for his tireless work in collecting and transporting school furniture and chairs plus material to the DIK Store [Donations in Kind], as well as building repairs/refurbishment at the DIK store.
Ron not only for his inspirational work in fund raising via the organising and selling of cushions and material, but via the development of the Club’s profile and membership growth. For the latter the Club received a special recognition certificate at District Changeover, as our Club with membership growth is definitely heading in the opposite direction to many other clubs.
The singing group the Rocky Road Singers provided entertainment for Club members, partners, Friends of Rotary, District Representatives and guests.
President Bill provided us with an overview of his vision for the coming 12 months and introduced his incoming Board.
