LILYDALE YOUTH CLUB REFURBISHMENT – 2016

Michael Gavin Monthly Updates

The Club was instrumental in the building of the Lilydale Youth Club facilities some 30 years ago.

The Club’s Lilydale  Youth Club representative, Ian Darvell proposed to the Club’s Board, that the original Youth Club rooms required a drastic clean and paint following 30 years of continuous use.

Over approximately a fortnight, with weekends included, Club members & partners, as well as Youth Club representatives transformed the tired building’s insides to a bright and clean environment.  The bare brick walls are now a bright cream colour.  The feedback from the Youth Club and its members has been very positive and enthusiastic for the results achieved.   A day to day chronology of the works achieved can be viewed on the following link 2016 LILYDALE YOUTH CLUB WORKING BEE CHRONOLOGY

We had a visit from local Federal MP – Tony Smith in the closing stages of the work.  He was very impressed with the work completed thus far, just prior to the final coat of paint.LILYDALE YOUTH CLUB WORKERS WITH TONY SMITH FEDERAL MP

We had support with supplies from Lilydale Paint Right, Tim Hewitt Homes Pty Ltd and roof repairs by the Yarra Ranges Council.
